LE DIVERSITÀ DEL CONTEMPORANEO
(The Diversity of the Contemporary)
April 1-30, 2022
Rossocinabro is pleased to present a group exhibition entitled “Le Diversità del Contemporaneo”. It is not the first time that Rossocinabro has examined and compared the theme of 'Diversity of contemporary art' which escapes easy classification. There are artists and artworks so different that it is always complicated to provide a rigorous reading or classification within an arts system that takes as a criterion for cataloging the historical period in which a particular type of art existed. To realize this, it is sufficient to compare the different artworks that can be found in any contemporary art gallery or in an art collection: it almost seems that these artworks are opposite to each other, there are so many differences that separate them. Yet they are all products of our time, the result of the creative elaborations of diverse artists who differ in experiences, life paths, ideas, influences, directions, addresses, developments, experiences and areas of belonging. The result of this exhibition is aimed at disseminating and enhancing the knowledge of a contemporary, not always present at art fairs and official exhibitions, and of its multiform languages. The artworks come from Europe, UK, USA, Australia, China, Center and South America, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Armenia and India.

Just like the intense shade of red it takes its name from, Rossocinabro—considered one of the most influential contemporary art galleries in Rome—represents an extraordinary passion for art. Thanks to the guidance of its director Cristina Madini, over the years Rossocinabro has become a flower—albeit still somewhat niche—in the direct vicinity of the beautiful Villa Borghese. The gallery has organised hundreds of exhibitions in the past, from solo shows of international artists to collective exhibitions of emerging local creatives.
